Welcoming Susan Long-Walsh to the StolenYouth Board

StolenYouth is honored to welcome our newest board member, Susan Long-Walsh. Susan is a Senior Talent and Acquisition Professional at the Gates Foundation and is a passionate advocate for women and children, social justice and poverty elimination, Susan has been a voice for so many in need, and now brings her expertise to the fight against child trafficking.

She is an experienced board member and fundraiser, having served on the board of InfluenceHer and Vital Voices Global Partnership (NW Chapter), as well as having chaired the Central District Forum for Arts and Ideas Gala and co-chaired the 10th Anniversary Treehouse fundraiser. When asked why she joined the board, Susan replied:

Human trafficking is modern day slavery. Hearing about this wasn’t enough for me. How could I get involved? As we all know, volunteering can be challenging and rewarding. Along came StolenYouth.  I did my homework.

What is their mission? Who are they serving (victims, survivors, etc.)? Who are the board members? What ways can I contribute? I attended events, and was inspired by the heroines/heroes of StolenYouth. I knew I had to be part of what they were doing and the difference they were making.

Anyone can join in the fight against human trafficking. Working with an organization such as StolenYouth is an honor. Here’s to the mission! Let’s raise funds and awareness to support the rescue and recovery of our community’s sexually exploited youth.

We’re so excited to welcome her to the StolenYouth team.
